Figures are typical maximums, not exact. Check each camera’s datasheet and the switch’s per-port and total budget. Aim to use no more than about 80% of the total budget.
Total budget versus per-port power
A switch can have plenty of ports yet a small total PoE budget. Each port also has a limit by standard (802.3af up to 15.4 W, 802.3at up to 30 W). Long cable runs lose some power too. Learn more in our guide to cabling and PoE switches.
